Franz is the youngest in a family of only sons. He grew up under the care of his cheerful, overbearing mother and distant father in a working-class home, where he learned from an early age how to help manage a house while getting along with his brothers. Petty squabbles were not an option for the four boys, they were a waste of good time that could be spent taking care of the house or studying.

While his relationship with his mother was fairly normal, his father was always a mystery to him. All he knew was that Wilhelm Rosenberg had disowned his family over an inheritance dispute years ago, and would turn sour whenever any of his boys asked about their grandfather. The three older boys were fine with not knowing the full story, but not Franz.

For as long as he could remember, Franz had an insatiable curiousity; his favorite thing in life was to learn new things, find out what made a clock tick, how insects reproduced, the history of any given country, what motivates people to do the things they do. Once he knew part of the story behind his father's sadness, Franz made it one of his life's goals to connect with his grandfather, find out what happened, and hopefully reunite his father with his long-absent family.

Franz has always been very good with mathematics, but his newfound power to add, subtract, multiply, divide, or find the square root of any given number or numbers has rendered him a human calculator. This may seem like a wimpy power, but it comes in very handy at times.

Franz seems older than his fourteen years; he's serious, introverted, and tends to analyze the hell out of everything. While not an outcast, he's hardly the most popular student at school, which of course doesn't make a difference to him. His high IQ has earned him a sort of respect among even the toughest students.

He has an obsession with understanding everything, knowing what makes people tick and grasping how everything works. When he finds something or someone he can't figure out, he'll obsess about it for weeks and become very frustrated.

He's very close to his brothers; they argue like any normal siblings but their upbringing has formed a strong partnership between the four.

Franz may seem stoic, but the onset of puberty has rendered him very easily flustered when approached by girls...or especially attractive or personable members of his own sex.

Franz is short for his age with a skinny frame, close-cropped black hair, and dark gray eyes. He tends to dress in dark colors. Being farsighted, he has a pair of glasses he wears while reading or working at a computer. He's generally considered "adorable" to the point where older ladies will sometimes pinch his cheeks, something he can't stand.
